This elegant porcelain china large serving platter was made by Syracuse in the Old Ivory Nimbus Platinum pattern, introduced in 1949. The pattern was made into the 1960s, but the specific OPCO mark on the back was discontinued in the 1950s. Syracuse primarily made institutional ware, and Old Ivory was extensively used in fine hotels and restaurants.
The 16 by 11-3/4 inch platter has a simple decoration consisting of concentric platinum rings or bands on creamy ivory. When tilted into good light, there are a very few short, shallow utensil marks to the center glaze only. Otherwise the platter is in excellent condition with no damage or platinum wear.
