A scarce set of six 7-1/4 inch Syracuse restaurant china salad or dessert plates with a Dutch fisherman theme in maroon red on cream. There are two different marks on the backs, three with date codes of 1920, three with 1941 codes, indicating this may have been a stock pattern in production for at least 20 years. Though not quite the same, a similar Syracuse Dutch fisherman pattern in the same style, border, and color was used by Chicago's Drake Hotel Cape Cod room in the 1930s.
All six plates are in excellent, clean condition with crisp, clear graphics and no damage. No dulling or wear to the glaze, though there are a few teeny tiny stacking marks (not knife or utensil scratches).
