This hanging strainer or steamer basket was made in the late 1800s by L & G Manufacturing Company (Lalance & Grosjean) under their Agate Nickel Steel Ware brand. It's 9-3/4" diameter by 4 inches deep and has a 9-1/2 inch high looped handle to hang from a pot or bucket (see my other listings for the same strainer in combination with a lower pot).
The mottled gray porcelain enamel finish is shiny and clean. There are a few small, minor enamel chips, likely more from 130 years of storage and moving than from actual use. It's marked as shown below the rim. The last photo shows how it's meant to hang over a pot or pan, not included.
