This antique 7 inch composition original Kewpie doll figurine was a talcum powder dispenser bottle. I found one just like it online that had the original "Kewpie Talcum" box dated 1917, though the company made Rose O'Neill licensed Kewpie dispensers and other products as early as 1913.

The Kewpie has articulated, jointed arms that are secure and properly working. The metal shaker dial at the back of the head is intact and working. There are only remnants of the original foil heart decal on his chest. The hand painted face is in very good condition, and the body and arms are structurally sound with no cracks or chips. The fingertips are a bit crudely formed but they have no damage. The label on the bottom reads La Compagnie Vendôme, a French inspired early 20th Century cosmetics firm, though the actual dispenser was made in Germany. There are a few normal little nicks and scuffs to the finish as shown, nothing severe - the largest is a 3/8 of an inch paint flake on one side of the head, shown in the fifth photo.
