This detailed pair of vintage two-toned bookends depicts a Native American Indian in full headdress, engaged in a shooting war with pioneers in covered wagons. They're about 4-3/4 inches diameter and have cup-like openings at the back for holding pens and such. Each is marked © M.P.I. 1947 - I believe that stands for Multi Products Industries, a competitor of Syroco/Ornawood who made similar wood pulp and resin household items. One bookend has a couple of shallow flakes to the lower left bottom side finish, barely noticeable. Otherwise they're in excellent vintage condition.
