A pair of vintage hand made carved wood Wayang Golek stick puppets from Indonesia, nearly 23 inches high on their original wood stands. They appear to be from the 1960s based on the fabrics and embellishments of their costumes. The skirts are cotton batik, the bodices are beaded and sequined velour on canvas.
The puppet with the green bodice has two repairs, one to the top of her head dress (second picture) and one to her right hand. It has old tape which I didn't remove but it appears to be a clean break, repaired with glue. I see no other damage other than normal light wear consistent with age and the normal tiny flaws found in hand made folk art.
