This early 20th Century high-glaze ceramic trivet has a wonderful hand painted scene of a Dutch boy and girl (or possibly mother and son) with the boy feeding a little goat. It's about 6-1/2 inches square by about 5/8" high on four corner feet and was produced in Saxony Germany. A green backstamp on the bottom, shaped like a hat reads St. A.-G. Sornewitz. There's another circular mark below but it's too faded to read. The upper right foot corner has a glaze nick to the edge as shown in the last photo. It's not visible when displayed unless you pick the trivet up and turn it over. Otherwise excellent condition.
