This Madame Alexander cloth and composition boy doll is Butch, made between 1936 and 1940. He's 11-1/2 inches, wearing his complete original outfit: one piece romper suit with knit top and cream feathercord shortalls, knit cap and socks, and oilcloth shoes.
Butch has composition hands, legs, and head with a firmly stuffed, clean cloth body. His blond hair is in excellent condition, as are the lashes on his blue sleep eyes. His face has some mild craze lines (see last picture). I don't see any crazing to the legs or hands. The original Madame Alexander cloth tag is attached to the back collar and the doll is marked M Alexander at the back of the neck. There is one very minor issue - the bottom snap for the shorts waistband is sewn too far away from the edge, causing it to easily become unsnapped. This can be fixed by re-stitching just the bottom part a bit closer to the waist edge.
