A pair of romantic, handcrafted framed pictures made from ribbon work, lace, and deeply sculpted bas-relief paper pulp Victorian greeting cards. The scene of the dove pulling a cart of roses is mounted on pale grayish-green velvet bordered by ribbon flowered trim and lace, set against a teal velveteen background.

The companion picture uses an ornate celluloid card cut out or die cut featuring a hand fan, holly, and pulp paper pansies. The card is layered over soft milkweed or similar natural fibers on pink velvet, framed in antique pink and green ribbon flower trim over the same teal velvet. The 8 by 6 inch wood and glass frames are late 20th century (1970s is my guess) but the materials are from the Victorian to early 1900s era. These very pretty pictures are in excellent vintage condition, with no damage noted to the delicate mixed materials.
