This 78 RPM double "Red Record" set was an advertising premium aimed at children in the 1950s. For 25 cents and a box top from Wheaties cereal, you would receive this set of two 7-inch red vinyl records (heavier and thicker than later vinyl records) in the mail, shipped in the envelope shown. Each of the four sides has two folk songs for a total of eight (actually one has a third song). The records are in wonderful condition with no damage or scratches. Found inside the mailer sleeve and included is a 33 RPM 1950s cardboard record of Christmas music featuring Lawrence Welk and the Lennon Sisters - with the misspelling Lennen on the record. It appears to be a giveaway from a Dodge automobile dealer. The songs on the Wheaties records are:
My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean On Top of Old Smoky Clementine (Oh My Darling) Turkey in the Straw Blow the Man Down Sailing, Sailing Sailor's Hornpipe Rock Candy Mountain Blue Tail Fly (Jimmy Crack Corn)
