This antique tea kettle was made by Manning Bowman in the early 1900s. It's brass over nickel or copper and holds about 7 cups. The solid brass stand allows you to tilt the kettle for pouring. The handle and lid finial are Ebonite. The alcohol (spirit) burner is dated 1904 and is complete and working.

The interior has a tin lining which is intact and should be safe for use. There is a rust spot inside which I was able to diminish some by scrubbing with Barkeeper's Friend, but I was unable to get my hand fully inside to finish the job. The kettle has a shallow, pinpoint dimple ding on one side and a slightly spotty finish. I was tempted to shine it up with Brasso polish, but some collectors prefer the original patina so I'll leave that to the buyer.
