This rectangular serving dish or platter is a classic example of Tlaquepaque hand thrown terracotta folk art pottery from the Tonala region of Mexico. It has an almost primitive style and feel to the hand painted stylized bird and plants decoration in earthy colors. The dish is unsigned and has some age to it, with a slightly uneven glaze and a few paint flakes. It measures 12 by 10-1/4" and is 2 inches high.
