A very vintage assortment of ladies' handkerchiefs and crocheted doilies, stored in a pink 1940s padded quilted satin dresser or vanity hanky box by Jayhawk.

The highlight of the lot is the elaborately trimmed large scalloped cotton handkerchief, decorated with sprays of violets. With the wide white and purple hairpin lace trim, it's nearly 15 inches across. The starched and pressed hankie doesn't appear to have been used and there are no stains or tears.

Next is a lavender linen hankie with tatted pink and green lace trim. The initial L is embroidered in one corner. Attached are a metal scissors charm and a long handled spoon brooch or pin - silver colored, untarnished metal with old fashioned plain open C-clasp, not marked.

There's another floral cotton print hankie and five small thread crocheted doilies. Two are basic off-white, one round, one snowflake shape, another is a round purple and white, the fourth is a lacy square with butterfly center. The square ecru-gold larger doily with spider web corners was made with fine silky rayon thread.
