This is a scarce wallpocket by Gilner Potteries of California, featuring one of their Happy People red pixies posed in the center of a cluster of chartreuse green grapes. The planter is about 6 inches wide by 8 inches high, the sitting pixie is 4". The back is marked Gilner Calif. and dated 1950.
There are no chips, flakes, crazing, or damage of any kind to the wall pocket - it's virtually mint. The pixie is in excellent condition as well with good paint and none of the usual soiling that often affects the unglazed bisque face. There are a couple of tiny pinpoint stray red specks to his face that occurred during the hand painting process. The fold of the pixie's hat tip has a little bit of dark green underglaze, also from manufacturing. The wall pocket is spotlessly clean inside and out, having never held soil or water. The white spots in the pictures are all from glare and reflections.
