I'm not certain of the proper term for the Spanish re-revival type of medieval or Mediterranean gothic home decor that was popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s, but this Spanish knight or conquistador wall plaque is from that era. If you're over 45 you may remember the chains, wrought iron, shields, swords, clunky and dark carved wood, and red/gold/black colors that marked the medieval decor craze.
The 11-1/2 by 15 inch wall plaque looks like carved wood but it's actually some type of molded plastic composition that's been painted. It depicts the bust of a Spanish or Mediterranean conquistador (knight) with his speared battle axe. There are two holes at the back for hanging. Excellent vintage condition with no damage.
