This 4-1/4" platinum haired spaghetti angel looks like a typical 1950s figurine of Japan production, but apparently she was made in this country, perhaps by a small studio pottery. Written on the unglazed bottom in green script is "Pat. appl'd" and a number that dates to patent numbers issued in 1956.
The angel wears a long blue gown trimmed at the hem with spaghetti fur. She has a gold ring halo and holds a gold and white lyre, with one hand extended away from the body, about to play music. Her wings and fur are trimmed in gold. There is some light crazing and a tiny speck of extra pottery at the back of her gown, otherwise she's in excellent condition with no chips or damage.
