Silver Seal aluminum cookware was made by Century Metalcraft in the 1930s, and was the predecessor to Guardian Service Ware. During WWII the Century factory was converted for military purposes. After the war, when the company was again able to manufacture aluminum consumer goods, Century redesigned its Silver Seal line and re-named it Guardian Service, keeping many of the basic shapes and orange-peel hammered aluminum texture.
This attractive well-and-tree footed meat platter, however, did not survive the change over and was never made in the Guardian line. It measures 13-3/4 by 11 inches and rests on six molded feet. It's in excellent, shiny condition, with only minor, very shallow utensil scratches. Poor lighting on a sunless day caused the dark shadows in the pictures.
