This 1940s orange-peel textured aluminum pan is in the Guardian Service cookware line by Century Metalcraft, sold through home parties. The 12 inch version of this pan is called the chicken fryer, but this one is smaller at 9-1/2" diameter by 2-1/4 inches high, not including the handles. It can be used as a skillet if you have the Guardian detachable handle. Best of all, it comes with a metal lid rather than the usual glass lid - you can't break or chip this one. Both pieces are clean and shiny with no major wear. There is some minor pitting in the bottom of the pan, typically caused by undissolved salt. The bottom has the earlier Patent Pending version of the knight's head mark.
