An attractive antique copper tea kettle with a paneled body and lid, slender gooseneck spout, and decorative hinged swing handle. Designed to be used on old coal or wood cook stoves, it has a narrow flange ring above the base to fit into the stove burner - the ring does not preclude use on modern stovetops. The top of the handle is ribbed copper with an applied black patina for easier gripping.
The kettle is 6-1/2" across the bottom by 8-3/4 inches high with the handle in the raised position. It holds about 1-3/4 quarts. The interior lining (probably tin) has some spotty wear. I left the original patina intact without cleaning or polishing. The bottom is fairly shiny but is not marked.
