This antique Western Electric ringer box is from the days when telephones had to be wired to a box like this in order to hear it ring when a call came in. It's solid oak, painted black, and quite heavy for its 11 by 8 by 7 inch size - nearly 18 pounds! The interior is very clean and undamaged. The wiring appears to have been restored. The paint has a few nicks as shown, but the wood case is in good shape with no cracks or chips. The only thing missing is the metal crank handle at the side. Carved into the bottom is 400K, presumably the model number.
