The original owner of this super retro Fairfax vacuum cleaner purchased it in 1973 for $250 (a shocking amount, considering the equivalent in today's dollars is about $1857). He kept all the forms, manual, and paperwork, including the original receipts and the payment coupon book. He must have used it very little, because the vacuum cleaner and attachments are amazingly clean - some appear to have never been used.
I tested the vacuum and it works very well with excellent suction. The attachments and accessories listed in the manual are all present except the straight and curved extension wands that attach to the hose: filterizer, hose, metal rug tool, floor brush, crevice tool, duster brush, and upholstery brush. I was expecting a large head rug tool like those in later models, but this model didn't have one even as an option. The chrome head is the primary one.
Other optional accessories include a charcoal filter attachment, water valve system for wet pickup (both shown in the next to last picture), a floor brush to use with the water valve, a "foamaster" attachment, extra upholstery tool, two bottles of filterizer liquid, and several extra filters. Filters, bags, and accessories are still widely available online. A virtually empty collection bag is inside the canister, making the vacuum cleaner ready to use. The last photo shows the original box. It's not sturdy enough to use as the shipping carton, so I'll place it inside a new shipping box. This item is oversize and super heavy - 41 pounds boxed up.
