This 1950s hard plastic lighted musical church Christmas display was made by Raylite Electric Corp., a division of Paramount. It comes in its original box which is labeled Paramount, No. 177 MC, Illuminated Musical Cathedral. It's the larger of two sizes made, standing 13-1/2 inches high to the top of the cross and 7-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches at the base. The stained glass windows of the church light up nicely when plugged in. A music box plays Silent Night when the key at the back is wound. Note the gold cross at the top - later versions of this church were made without the cross as it tended to snap off, often before the cathedrals even made it onto store shelves.
The interior light and music box are working properly. The original lighted cord has been replaced with with a longer 5-1/2 foot more modern one with a polarized plug and rocker type on/off switch. The only issue is a melt mark to the plastic at one side from close contact to a Christmas light bulb - shown greatly enlarged in the last photo. The church is marked at the back "Manufactured By Raylite Electric Corp, New York NY". The box is missing one upper flap, otherwise it's intact and in good condition. You can put together a very nice holiday display with this church as the focal point, using angel hair or cotton snow, miniature lights, angel figures or other buildings - whatever you like.
