A hammered, hand wrought Arts and Crafts cream pitcher and covered sugar set, marked Dewson. John Dewson was a Scottish trained coppersmith in the Easton area of Pennsylvania, born in the 1860s. I've previously sold a Dewson candlestick and a pair of Gothic Revival style sconces, and I always look for more, but Dewson copper rarely comes up for sale.
The tin lined creamer and sugar are about 3-1/4 inches high to the rims, the lid finial and curled handles add another half inch or so. The sugar is 4-3/8" diameter at the bottom. The have chased organic decorations around the exteriors and at the top of the lid. Both pieces are in very good condition with original patina and no dents or scratches.
