An attractive Mid Century solid copper covered buffet serving dish for your company-best dining table. It was made by Gregorian Copper Company in the 1950s to 1960s. The copper has a subtly pebbled hammered finish. The lid has a decorative coiled circles finial, and the wide handles are nice and high to save your hands from the heat of the dish.
The bottom measures 11-1/2 by nearly 9 inches not including the handles. With the lid in place, overall height to the finial is 5-1/2 inches. Inside is a shallow GlasBake oval au gratin type liner dish marked Ovenware Made In USA 55-8 in pristine condition. The original Gregorian Over-To-Tableware brochure is present and a copper foil "Gregorian Made In USA" label is on the underside. There are a few pinpoint tarnish specks to the lid and rim which may polish out, but you'd probably have to remove the lacquer coating first.
