This hand painted wooden tray is a batea bowl, decorated in a form of Mexican folk art. It's an older one, likely made for tourist trade in Mexico in the 1940s or earlier. The bowl is 12-1/4 inches diameter, decorated with pink, blue, white, and yellow flowers on black. There are some scuffs and scratches to the paint as shown, mostly around the rim. There's also a 2 inch tight rim crack. Mexico is lightly etched on the bottom of the bowl.
