A gorgeous, super retro set of tall Balinese or Siamese dancer figural ceramic planters by Treasure Craft of California from the 1950s, possibly late 1940s. The male dancer is 13-3/4 inches high, the female about half an inch shorter. The cream colored high-gloss pottery is decorated in mauve pink and abundant gold. The planter openings are 3 by 2 inches, with a depth of nearly 4 inches.
The figurines are in excellent condition. There are no chips, flakes, hairlines, or other damage, and no crazing. There is some wear to the lavish gold trim - some of the photos make the wear look worse than it really is due to reflections and lighting conditions. The fingertips of the male dancer have a touch of wear to the fleshtone paint, best seen in the back view (photo number 2). The male also has a tiny paint skip at the tip of his nose. The bottom of each planter has some florist clay residue. Each figurine has a gold and red foil label reading Treasure Craft Original California.
