This handsome four piece solid copper chafing dish is from the 1930s, possibly 1920s. The handle is wood, as is the lid finial knob. The three ornate legs are cast red brass or bronze, and the small trim pieces are brass, but the main components (handled food pan, water pan, lid, and attached sterno or candle cup) are solid copper. Total height is about 10-1/2 inches, the diameter of the upper pan rim is 9-5/8". Capacity is 1-1/2 quarts (six cups). The bottom is marked S R S 1226. This mark is attributed to Sears Roebuck Silver. The server is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, dings, or damage, just a little smattering of patina specks which should easily polish out.
