This solid copper primitive style recipe box was part of the Village Copper line from Pfaltzgraff, which hasn't been made for more than 20 years. The items in the line were adapted from early American antiques, each individually hand crafted with a rough, distressed finish. Village Copper was expensive, aimed at an upscale market as the items were costly to produce (this same recipe box is priced at $179 on a certain online replacements site).
The recipe box is about 4-1/4" high at the back by 5-1/4" wide. It has an unhinged lift-off cover. The lid is pierced with a pretty tulip and scroll design and the word Recipes. This piece was made to look old with a certain amount of wear and patina.
