I couldn't help but snicker when I saw a 1959 advertisement for this Columbia model C1215 3-tube table model phonograph record player calling it "portable". It's awfully heavy compared to more modern record players, weighing about 28 pounds before packing and boxing. When closed, the unit measures 23 by 16 by 9-1/2 inches high and is quite clean with no signs of damage or cosmetic issues.
The two hinged speakers at the sides are detachable. The record player turns on and the turntable spins on all four speeds (16, 33, 45, and 78). The record changer and reject switch work as well. But I can't tell you how well it plays because there is no needle. A spindle attachment for 45 rpm records is included.
